Conversations With A Grandchild
I began this project in late April, 2015 after a trip to NYC and the American South. These images and text helped launch the idea of The StoryTeller Project. The photos were shot using the Leica M7, a 50mm Summicron lens and T-MAX or HP5 film, then I scanned the selects for digital reproduction.
This photographic work is autobiographical and participatory. As such, I invite you into a series of brief imagined dialogues between one of my grandchildren and myself. In each case, Corbin or Lucy opens the discourse with the first question or statement and alternates the single-line responses with me. This approach allows you to interpret the photograph and text based on your personal experience.
My hope is to tell you a little bit about who I am, what I think, and perhaps more importantly, why.
